Kitiish was born in Nelson, NZ, to a Kiwi mother and Thai father.  'Kitiish' is a Sanskrit name, which is from India.  This multi-cultural background is a subtle influence that underpins much of his practice.

Kitiish went to Nayland College in Nelson before heading to Wellington to study a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University.  On that course he took papers in a number of subjects - Anthropology, Psychology, Philosophy, Linguistics, Spanish and Music.  Although interested in them all, none of them seemed to stick and he left after a few years, returning to work in the Hospitality industry as a chef.

When Kitiish was 27, he made the decision to enroll at art school, returning to Nelson to study at NMIT.  What he found was that under the broad umbrella of 'Art', all his previous interests were represented and he could pursue them all at once, linking them conceptually into his work.  After receiving the Toss Woollaston Art Scholarship, he graduated in 2011.

Another of his interests is music, and he has incorporated a recording space into his art studio, often combining the two media in the creative process.  An example of this can be found in the 2011 music video 'White Noise (Prisonism)', with the amazing production of The SandMan.

Currently, Kitiish's artistic focus is informed mainly by an ongoing exploration of Astronomy and Astrology.
